THE AF CORSE MOTOROLA FERRARI F430 GTs AT BRNO
This weekend, the eighth round of the FIA GT Championship
takes place at Brno (Czech Republic.) Once again, the AF Corse
Motorola team crews will be the team to beat in GP2 after
a thrilling one-two in the last race in Adria. While the team
title could be decided in this forthcoming race, there is
still everything to play for in the drivers’ classification.
The Muller-Vilander duo leads on 53 points, ahead of Malucelli-Collard
on 47 and Bruni-Ortelli on 44, with 30 points still to play
for. Muller and Vilander are confident and concentrating on
taking yet another victory, as are team-mates Bruni and Ortelli
even if both their Ferrari F430 GTs are carrying ballast as
a result of their recent results: to be precise, Muller-Vilander’s
car no. 50 has 40kg + the usual 28 kg as decided by the FIA,
with car 51 carrying 50 kg + the FIA’s 28 kg.
The number of Ferrari F430 GT prepared by the Maranello Corse
Clienti entered in the FIA GT series has increased and there
are now seven examples starting this next race, through the
entry of Italian team Advanced Engineering, who field Rui
Aguas, who has already driven for AF Corse Motorola at the
recent Spa 24 Hours and, making his debut, Italy’s Stefano
Gattuso.
Free practice consists of two 80 minute sessions and qualifying
15 minutes on Saturday, with the warm-up and race on Sunday,
the start being given at 13.15.
