F1, FXX and Ferrari Challenge in action at Paul Ricard
Ferrari Racing Days got underway today at France’s
Paul Ricard HTTT circuit at Le Castellet. Taking to the track
were historic Formula 1 cars run by the Maranello F1 Clienti
department, the FXX cars of the similarly named programme
for “owner-test drivers” and the F430s competing
in the Italian and European Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy
championships, now on their final and penultimate rounds respectively,
before they come together again for the grand final at the
2007 Ferrari World Finals to be held at Mugello from 24 to
28 October.
In the Italian series, Giorgio Sernagiotto (Motor) and Nicola
Gianniberti (Motor/Sauro) set the quickest times in the two
qualifying sessions, ahead of Nicola Cadei (Rossocorsa) and
Lorenzo Bontempelli (Rossocorsa) respectively. In the Shell
Cup for gentlemen drivers, the quickest in both qualifying
sessions was Giorgio Massazza (Rossocorsa.)
As for the European series, Switzerland’s Henri Moser
(Kessel Racing) and France’s Jean-Marc Bachelier (Ferrari
GB Dealer Team) will start from pole in the Pirelli Trophy
and the Shell Cup in the race-2 events on the main day.
Sky Italia will show the four races scheduled for tomorrow
live, starting at 9.30 on the SKY Sport 2 channel and from
15.45 on SKY Sport Extra (repeat of the two Italian series
races on SKY Sport 2 on Wednesday 5 September at 22.30.)
