Testing at the Le Castellet circuit

17th May 2007
Maranello, 17th May
Circuit: Paul Ricard HTTT, version 1E V2 – 5.255 km
Driver: Kimi Raikkonen
Car: F2007
Weather: air temperature 14/19 °C, track temperature 16/27 °C. Overcast, windy.

Third day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, working once again today at the “Paul Ricard” circuit at Le Castellet, in the South of France.

Today it was Kimi Raikkonen’s turn to take to the track. Along with his fellow drivers, the Finn was running on track 1E V2, a different version of the circuit to that used over the two previous days: this one, which is over five kilometres long was selected to reproduce some characteristics of medium fast tracks like those to be tackled on the North American leg of the series in June. Kimi worked on finding the best set-up, comparing the different types of tyre provided by Bridgestone and on development of some mechanical and aerodynamic components.

The summary of Kimi’s day in figures is: 50 laps completed, the quickest in a time of 1.28.833.
Testing at this circuit continues tomorrow, again with Kimi Raikkonen on track.
