Wins for Bontempelli and Postiglione in the Ferrari Challenge
Today, at the Monza circuit was the final day of the special
programme which during the course of the weekend saw the single-seaters
prepared by the Maranello F1 Clienti department take to the
track along with the F430s competing in the third round of
the 2007 Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy.
In the main category of the one-make series, race-1 saw victory
go to Lorenzo Bontempelli, the Rossocorsa driver crossing
the line ahead of Vito Postiglione (Motor/Malucelli) and Philipp
Baron (Baron Service.) Coming out on top among the gentlemen
drivers in the Shell Cup was Sandro Mucelli (Stile F Service)
who beat the crew of Sauto/Prinoth (Ineco/MP Racing) and Vanni
Campari (Motor/Sauro.)
In the afternoon race, the winner turned out to be Postiglione
ahead of Bontempelli and Baron, second and third respectively.
Giorgio Massazza (Rossocorsa) then took the top slot in the
Shell Cup, beating Sauto/Prinoth and Nina Jerancic (AC-Maranello
Auto.)
As for the Formula 1 demonstration, over the weekend no less
than sixteen cars took part in their own free practice sessions.
Worthy of note, the participation of an ex-Ascari 1953 500
F2 and seven examples of cars driven by Michael Schumacher
during his career with the Prancing Horse.
The next round of this season’s Italian Ferrari Challenge
Pirelli Trophy is scheduled to take place at Vallelunga, over
the weekend of 16-17 June.
