Wins for Postiglione, Cullen and Forer in the Ferrari Challenge
Today was the final day of the opening round at the Monza
circuit of the 2007 Italian and European Ferrari Challenge
Pirelli Trophy, featuring the F430 cars.
In the Italian series, race-1 ended with victory going to
Vito Postiglione, with the Motor/Malucelli driver crossing
the finish line ahead of Nicola Cadei (Rossocorsa) and Andrea
Belluzzi (Motor.) Among the gentlemen drivers in the Shell
Cup, victory went to the crew of Reichegger/Ferroni (Rossocorsa/Pellin.)
The afternoon race went to Postiglione from Nicola Gianniberti
(Motor / Sauro) and Cadei, second and third respectively.
Shell Cup honours belonged to Vanni Campari (Motor / Sauro.)
After wins yesterday for Max Blancardi in the Pirelli Trophy
and Philippe Prette in the Shell Cup, today saw competitors
in the European one-make series tackle their second races.
In the main category, it was Ireland’s Michael Cullen
(Rossocorsa) who won, fighting off France’s Ange Barde
(Stradale Automobile) and Germany’s Bjorn Grossmann
(Autohaus Gohm,) while in the Shell Cup it was the Italian
Walter Forer (Rossocorsa/Pellin) who made it to the top step
of the podium.
The next round of this season’s Italian and European
Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy will once again take place
at the same meeting, at Misano Adriatico over the weekend
of 21-22 April.
