Ferrari in action at Monza this weekend
This weekend, the Monza circuit hosts the opening round
of the 2007 Italian and European Ferrari Challenge Pirelli
Trophy series, which also features the Shell Cup for gentlemen
drivers.
Both series run over six rounds before their finale as part
of the Ferrari World Finals and feature just the F430 car,
as the 360 Modena bowed out last year after a brilliant racing
career. In total, there will be over eighty cars taking to
the track. The programme gets underway tomorrow, Friday 23rd
March, with the first sessions in preparation for races on
Saturday and Sunday. The race format, with each one lasting
forty minutes, includes as usual, an obligatory pit stop to
add spectacle and excitement from pit lane.
SKY Italy will exclusively show the fifteenth series of the
Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy. As for the first
round on Sunday 25th March, a lengthy live broadcast will
be put out on SKY Sport Extra, starting at 10.30 (repeated
on SKY Sport 2, Thursday 29th March at 22.30,) also featuring
coverage of the European series races.
RTL 102.5, the official radio partner of the Italian one-make
series will broadcast in several of its news bulletins throughout
the whole season.
The European Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy will also receive
ample coverage in the “Ferrari Racing” magazine,
dedicated to all the Prancing Horse’s motor sport activity,
broadcast this year by the pan-European satellite channel,
Motors TV and by other broadcasters around the world, as per
a calendar to be announced soon by SPORTFIVE, the company
given the job of distributing the programme.
