First wins for Blancardi and Prette in the Challenge
Today, the Monza circuit hosted the first races of the weekend,
featuring the F430 Challenge competing in this season’s
opening rounds of the Italian and European Ferrari Challenge
Pirelli Trophy.
Fighting for the win in race-1 today were competitors in the
European one-make series. Victory in the main category went
to Max Blancardi (Motor / Malucelli) with the Italian driver
crossing the line ahead of France’s Ange Barde (Stradale
Automobile) and Switzerland’s Henri Moser (Kessel Racing.)
Philippe Prette (Baron Service) took top honours among the
gentlemen drivers in the Shell Cup, beating Walter Forer (Rossocorsa
/ Pellin) and Lloyd La Marca (Stradale Automobile.)
In the Italian series, Vito Postiglione (Motor / Malucelli)
and Lorenzo Bontempelli (Rossocorsa) set the fastest times
in the qualifying sessions for their respective races scheduled
for tomorrow. In the Shell Cup, quickest in qualifying was
Giorgio Massazza (Rossocorsa.)
The Italian SKY television network will exclusively show
the fifteenth series of the Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli
Trophy. As for the first round tomorrow, a lengthy live broadcast
will be put out on SKY Sport Extra, starting at 10.30 (repeated
on SKY Sport 2, Thursday 29th March at 22.30,) also featuring
coverage of the European series races.
RTL 102.5, the official radio partner of the Italian one-make
series will broadcast in several of its news bulletins throughout
the whole season.
