FERRARI F430 GT RACES IN THE FIA GT CHAMPIONSHIP AT OSCHERLEBEN
This coming weekend, the AF Corse Motorola Team Ferrari F430
GTs will be in action in the fifth round of the FIA GT championship
at Oschersleben (Germany.) After the first four races yielded
the same number of wins: three for the Muller-Vilander pairing
and one for the crew of Bruni-Ortelli, the AF Corse Motorola
team will be looking for a further win on the twisty Germany
circuit.
Despite the fact that car number 50 is carrying 78 Kg of
ballast, with number 51 running with 63 Kg, Amato Ferrari
is confident and optimistic for this coming race weekend.
“After a splendid one-two finish in the last race in
Monza, I am not sure what to expect. The drivers are very
quick and above all are careful not to make mistakes, our
Ferraris are reliable and the Michelin tyres are a guarantee
of performance as in Monza, we did the entire race without
changing tyres and the lap times were very consistent from
start to finish.”
The championship situation has the Muller-Vilander pairing
in the lead on 38 points, followed by Bruni-Ortelli on 18,
while third is Tim Mullen on 16 points. In the team championship,
AF Corse Motorola leads on 56 points ahead of the Racing Team
Edilcris with 27 and Scuderia Ecosse on 22 points. The weather
forecast is uncertain for Saturday when there are two free
practice sessions and qualifying, while the race on Sunday
is expected to take place in the dry.
