The Ferrari Challenge opens the Spa 24 Hours
An exceptional showcase for the fourth round of this season’s
Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy. The second round of races
this weekend in the one-make series featuring the F430 Prancing
Challenge cars was the curtain raiser to the Spa- Francorchamps
24 Hours race. Philipp Baron (Austria – team Baron Service)
took the honours in the main class, while the Shell Cup for
gentlemen drivers saw victory go to Philippe Prette (Monaco
– Baron Service.)
As for the marathon Grand Touring race, that will end at
16h00 tomorrow and is the sixth round of the 2007 FIA GT championship,
pole position went to the Ferrari F430 GT of Bruni/Ortelli/Aguas
(AF Corse Motorola) in the GT2 class and to the Corvette of
Deletraz/Hezemans/Gollin/Faessler in GT1, a category with
no Maranello cars entered.
The European Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy will be back
in action over the weekend of 31 August – 1 September
at the French Paul Ricard Circuit at Le Castellet, along with
the Italian series of the same championship,a demonstration
from F1 Clienti and a session for the FXX Programme, again
prepared by the Ferrari Corse Clienti department.
