Race results in Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy at Mugello
The fifth round of the Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli
Trophy, at the Mugello International Circuit (Florence, Italy,)
saw victories go to Nicola Cadei (Rossocorsa) and Vito Postiglione
(Motor / Malucelli) in the two races for the main class, while
Giorgio Massazza (Rossocorsa) and Vanni Campari (Motor / Sauro)
won in the Shell Cup for gentlemen drivers. Vito Postiglione
(Motor/Malucelli) thus strengthens his lead in the Pirelli
Trophy, while Massazza keeps his place at the head of the
other category.
Highpoint of the day was the demonstration run by Scuderia
Ferrari Marlboro, with test driver Luca Badoer at the wheel
of a 248 F1.
A guest of the Maranello marque in the paddock this weekend,
which boasted an attendance of over 14,000 spectators, who
were also able to watch a round of the DTM championship, was
Vanessa Ferrari, the winner of the individual artistic gymnastics
at the 2006 World Championship. She spent a long time in the
F1 pits and also did a lap on board the F430 used as a safety
car. “Next week I will be taking part in the Six Nations
international competition,” commented the young athlete,
but it was a pleasure to take time off to immerse myself in
this great Ferrari atmosphere here.”
Sky TV will be broadcasting the races from the Tuscan track
as follows: the Pirelli Trophy on 15 July at 19.30 on Sky
Sport 3 and on 19 July at 02.05 on Sky Sport 2, with the Shell
Cup on 20 July at 00.45 on Sky Sport 2.
The next round of the Italian one-make series, prior to the
Ferrari World Finals that sees competitors return to Mugello
from 24 to 28 October, will take place at the Paul Ricard
HTTT Circuit at Le Castellet (France) from 31 August to 2
September. This round will be part of the Ferrari Racing Days
event, which will also feature the F430 cars running in the
European Ferrari Challenge, as well as the FXX cars in their
own programme and the historic single-seaters prepared by
the Maranello F1 Clienti department.
