First day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro,
working today at the Mugello circuit.
Two drivers were in action today: Michael Schumacher and Marc
Gene. The day’s technical programme centred on testing
new aerodynamic and mechanical components, as well as development
of Bridgestone tyres aimed at the final three races of the
season.
The summary of the day in figures is: 57 laps (six of them
on the short version of the track) for Michael (best time
1’21”362) and 111 (three “short”)
for Marc (best time 1’22”510.”)
Testing at this track continues tomorrow, when Luca Badoer
will join Michael Schumacher. At the same time, at Fiorano,
Felipe Massa will shake down the cars to be used in the Chinese
Grand Prix.
