Schumacher with all of Scuderia Ferrari tomorrow at Monza
The 2006 Ferrari World Finals continued today at the Monza
circuit. The event which brings the Prancing Horse racing
season to a close, ends tomorrow, Sunday 29 October with a
parade of single-seaters prepared by the Maranello F1 Clienti
department and a demonstration from Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro,
which is the key moment of the day and also constitutes a
tribute to Michael Schumacher’s Formula 1 career. Completing
the busy programme of the event is a run by the exclusive
FXX Programme laboratory cars.
The giant screens opposite the main grandstands will also
allow spectators to watch live the final round of the MotoGP
championship.
Today’s programme saw track action from the Shell Ferrari
Historic Challenge and the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy.
In the Italian one-make series, victory went to Andrea Belluzzi
(Motor), who crossed the line ahead of Giuseppe Cirò
(Motor / Malucelli) and Vito Postiglione (Stile F), in second
and third places respectively.
Ending up on the top step of the podium in the Shell Cup
for gentlemen drivers was Giorgio Sernagiotto (Motor.)
Action and excitement all the way in the race which featured
competitors in both the European and North American series
of the Pirelli Trophy. First to pass under the chequered flag
in the second race was Ange Barde (Modena Cars Racing) ahead
of John Bosch (Kroymans / Barron Racing) and Henri Moser (Kessel
Racing.) First of the North American runners was Emmanuel
Anassis (Shelton Ferrari,) who was ninth overall.
Nicolas Misslin (Team FWE) took top honours in the European
Shell Cup race.
In the separate classification for the 360 Modena Challenge
cars in their final year of competition, wins went to Giorgio
Massazza (Rossocorsa) and Ronnie Kessel (Kessel Racing) in
the Italian and European series respectively.
These are the driver who won in the individual series of
the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy, after the final races
of the season: Andrea Belluzzi, Sauto / Prinoth and Lorenzo
Bontempelli in the Italian Pirelli Trophy, Shell Cup and 360
respectively, Ange Barde, Dennis Huebner and Bjorn Grossmann
in the European Pirelli Trophy, Shell Cup and 360 respectively,
and Emmanuel Anassis and Michael Louli in the North American
Pirelli Trophy and 360 respectively.
On the same card, the Monza circuit also hosted the first
races in the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge, also open to
historic Maseratis. At the end of these races, wins went to
the 1955 Maserati 250 F of Thomas Bscher in category “A”
for single seaters, the 1955 Maserati 300 S of Max Werner
in the “B” class (sports and GT cars fitted with
drum brakes and the 1970 Ferrari 512 M of Patrick Stieger
in the “C” group (cars with disc brakes.)
