Ferrari Challenge, Historic and F1 Clienti in action at
Valencia
Ferrari Racing Days got underway today at the Circuit de
la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo at Valencia in Spain.
This weekend’s event features races in the European
championships for the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy and
the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge, the series for historic
Ferraris, that since 1999 has also been open to Maseratis.
There are also demonstrations from a variety of historic single-seaters
coordinated by the Maranello F1 Clienti department.
Today featured qualifying for the one-make series which
this year sees the F430 make its debut, alongside a few 360
Modenas, still eligible for 2006. In the main class, the fastest
times in their respective sessions went to Philippe Favre
(Kessel Racing) and the crew of Case/Passuti (Ferrari GB Dealer
Team,) while among the gentlemen drivers in the Shell Cup,
it was Nicolas Misslin (Team FWE) and Ettore Contini (Kessel
Racing) who start from pole position on the two grids.
Tomorrow’s action gets underway at 9.00 with the first
race of the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy.
