Ferrari Racing Days at Le Castellet
Victories for Barde, Huebner, Schollwöck and Sordi in
the Challenges at Le Castellet

The Ferrari Racing Days event came to a close today at the
Paul Ricard HTTT circuit at Le Castellet (France) having this
weekend featured races for the fourth and fifth rounds respectively
of the European Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge and the Ferrari
Challenge Pirelli Trophy.
Today saw the final races in the one-make series which, this
year, sees the new F430 makes its debut alongside a few 360
Modena cars, still eligible for one final year.
The main Pirelli Trophy category ended with victory going
to Ange Barde (Modena Cars Racing) in race-2, with the Frenchman
crossing the line ahead of Dutchman John Bosch (Barron Racing
/ Kroymans) and Ireland’s Michael Cullen (Rossocorsa.)
As for the gentlemen drivers in the Shell Cup, Germany’s
Dennis Huebner (Baron Service) took the win from France’s
Nicolas Misslin (Team FWE) and fellow countryman Frederic
O’Neill (Team FWE.) In the separate classification for
the 360 Modena, first across the line was the German Bjorn
Grossmann (Autohaus Gohm / G2 Racing.)
It was also the final day of competition for the historic
cars in the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge, which since
1999 has also been open to Maserati cars.
Victory among the single-seaters, sports-prototypes and GT
cars fitted with drum brakes in grids A and B went to the
1937 Maserati 6CM of Germany’s Stefan Schollwöck,
while the 1981 Ferrari 512 BB LM of Italy’s Massimo
Sordi took the win in the second race in Group C for cars
with disc brakes.
The European Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy is back in
action over the weekend of 3 September at the Nurburgring
(Germany) before closing its season, once again alongside
the European Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge as part of the
Ferrari World Finals, to be held at Monza from 25 to 29 October,
when Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro will be on hand for its usual
end of season salute to its fans
