First races for Ferrari Challenge and Historic Challenge
at Le Castellet

The Ferrari Racing Days event got into its stride today at
the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit at Le Castellet (France) with
the fourth and fifth rounds respectively of the European Shell
Ferrari Historic Challenge and the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli
Trophy.
Competitors in the one-make series, this year marking the
debut of the new F430, alongside some 360 Modenas still eligible
to race for this year only, had their first races of the weekend
today.
In the main Pirelli Trophy category, victory went to Ross
Kaiser (Ferrari GB Dealer Team) with the Englishman crossing
the line ahead of France’s Gilles Vannelet (Auto Palace
/ Star Rent Competition) and Dutchman John Bosch (Barron Racing
/ Kroymans.) As for the gentlemen drivers in the Shell Cup,
Switzerland’s Lloyd La Marca (Modena Cars Racing) who
took the win ahead of Germany’s Dennis Huebner (Baron
Service) and the Monegasque driver Philippe Prette (Auto Palace
/ Star Rent Competition.) In the separate classification for
the 360 Modena, coming home first was the German Bjorn Grossmann
(Autohaus Gohm / G2 Racing.)
Also racing today, the cars in the Shell Ferrari Historic
Challenge, which since 1999 has also been open to Maserati
cars.
Victory among the single-seaters, sports-prototypes and GT
cars fitted with drum brakes for Grids A and B went to the
1937 Maserati 6CM of Germany’s Stefan Schollwöck,
while the Ferrari 512 BB LM (1980) of France’s Jean
Guikas took race-1 in group C (cars with disc brakes.)
Tomorrow is the main day of the event and the action gets
underway at 11.25 with the second race in the Ferrari Challenge
Pirelli Trophy, for drivers in the Shell Cup.
