Testing at the Barcelona circuit

First day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro,
working at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona.
The Scuderia’s two official test drivers, Luca Badoer
and Marc Gene, each at the wheel of a 248 F1, got the ball
rolling for this four day test session. The Italian worked
mainly on development of new components, while his Spanish
colleague began an endurance run. At the end of the day, 201
laps had been completed: 102 by Gene and 99 by Badoer. The
best time was set by Marc (1.16.129,) with Luca’s quickest
lap being a 1.16.398.
Testing at this circuit continues tomorrow, when Marc Gene
will be partnered by Felipe Massa.
