Launch in Düsseldorf: DTM back at the Königsallee
DTM is going to return to the ‘Kö’. In
2008, the most popular international Touring car series will
once again celebrate its season launch in the sports city
of Düsseldorf. The DTM Launch held on 6th April, 2008,
at the exclusive Königsallee, again takes the motor-racing
enthusiasts to the very heart of DTM. “In April 2007,
some 180,000 visitors welcomed DTM enthusiastically, hence,
we are delighted with having the chance of again coming to
Düsseldorf for our 2008 season launch,”, said Hans
Werner Aufrecht, Chairman of DTM rights holder and promoter
ITR e.V. “The ambience was unique and I’m convinced
that next year’s launch will prove to be another great
day for the fans, the city and DTM.” Düsseldorf’s
Governing Mayor, Joachim Erwin, promises a great event: “The
entire motor-racing world will focus on Düsseldorf, on
this day. We are going to again provide both DTM and the big
number of visitors a unique event.”
The fans will have the chance of experiencing DTM at close
range, in Düsseldorf’s city centre. Apart from
demonstration runs of the DTM cars of Audi and Mercedes-Benz
as well as of the cars racing in the support series, the programme
also features autographing sessions, interviews, competitions
and live music. Reigning champion Mattias Ekström (Audi)
and 2007 runner-up Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz) as well
as all the other DTM drivers will be on site to jointly present
themselves for the first time after the off-season. Just as
it was the case in the past years, the admission will be free.
All the information on the DTM Launch is available in the
World Wide Web at the official DTM website, at www.dtm.com
and at www.sportstadt-duesseldorf.de
Just one week after the DTM Launch, things will get serious,
with the first round of the 2008 season DTM season being held
from 11th to 13th April. Traditionally, the Hockenheimring
Baden-Württemberg will be the venue of the DTM season
opener.
