All DTM aces to attend the launch in Düsseldorf
The action returns to the Königsallee: on 15th April,
DTM is going to once again celebrate its traditional season
launch in the sports city of Düsseldorf. “Last
year, Düsseldorf and the visitors welcomed us enthusiastically
and now we are looking forward to anew visit the city,”
says Hans Werner Aufrecht, Chairman of ITR e.V., rights holder
and promoter of DTM. “In 2006, some 138.000 spectators
underlined that fast cars and the ‘Kö’ are
a fantastic combination. We want to tie in with this success
and provide the fans even more action.”
“This weekend, Düsseldorf is going to take the
centre stage of motor racing,” adds Lordmayor Josachim
Erwin. “Together with the numerous sports enthusiasts
and our guests, we are going to give DTM a great reception.”
On 15th April, from noon, the Audi and Mercedes-Benz DTM
cars again will be rolling on the ‘Kö’. In
addition, there will be an attractive support programme with
demonstration runs of the DTM cars and the partner series.
On the show stage there will be music acts, interviews and
autographing sessions. The event will be attended by all the
works drivers racing for the both brands involved, Audi and
Mercedes-Benz: aces such as two-time Formula 1 World Champion
Mika Häkkinen, DTM Record Champion Bernd Schneider, Le
Mans record winner Tom Kristensen and ‘Race of Champions’
winner Mattias Ekström.
For the fans, the launch represents the first opportunity
following the off-season to get very close to the DTM aces
and their racing cars. And just one week later, from 20th
to 22nd April, the Hockenheinmring Baden-Württemberg
will be the venue of the season opener.
