Motor cycle world champion Max Biaggi testing a DTM car
Mugello. He is a genuine fan of powerful machinery. On Sunday,
motorcycle world champion Max Biaggi tested an Audi A4 DTM
at the occasion of the DTM round in Mugello. “This was
great fun, I want more of it”, the 36-year old reported
with a smile. Just before warm-up on Sunday morning, Biaggi
drove his laps. Almost cautiously, rather unusual for him,
he drove the Audi A4 DTM around the 5.245 kilometres long
circuit in Tuscany. “That was my first experience with
a DTM car. I didn’t know what brakes and traction would
be like, so I didn’t push it to the limit”, the
Superbike driver said. He asked for another opportunity: “I
definitely would like to drive once again in order to be able
to experience the Audi A4 DTM at real speed.”
For the current Superbike rider, it is not the first experience
in a race car. The Italian already tested Formula 1 cars for
Ferrari and Midland-Toyota, impressing the experts with his
fast lap times. “During my test with the Ferrari, I
completed 60 laps including pit stops, so my times were really
meaningful. And the Ferrari people were impressed”,
Biaggi recalls proudly.
After the test with the Audi A4 DTM, Biaggi returned to his
usual machinery. With his Suzuki Superbike, he thrilled the
spectators at the Mugello circuit with demonstration laps.
