DTM on TV in 175 countries all over the world
When the DTM will be starting into the new season at the
Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg this weekend (April
20th till 22nd), motor sport fans in no less than 175 countries
all over the world will be able to follow the action in the
most popular international touring car series..
The ten DTM rounds of the 2007 season will be shown live
or tape-delayed in full (re-live) in 47 countries, 27 of them
in Europe. The DTM is being broadcast live in all the European
key markets like Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal,
Spain and the United Kingdom. The DTM can also be watched
live on TV in the United States, Brazil and throughout Africa
and the Middle East. In other countries, highlights and newsreels
fom the most popular international touring car series is being
shown.
DTM broadcast in 16:9
Right in time for the DTM season opener, there are some interesting
technical innovations in TV-coverage. With immediate effect,
the DTM is being broadcast in the state-of-the-art 16:9 format.
Moreover, DTM’s TV production partner WIGE Media AG
has developed a new ultra-compact camera with a weight of
only 182 grams. This MCU [1] (Micro Cam Unit) is the world’s
smallest HD onboard camera and provides a lot of new opportunities
for coverage. Moreover, A newly developed data network for
TV-cameras with cellular technology ensures an even higher
quality in image transfer. Exciting footage from the air is
being provided by an extra helicopter camera that is being
used for every DTM round.
