ALICE TEAM MOTOGP ADVENTURE HAS BEGUN
The Alice Team adventure in the MotoGP World Championship
has officially started. In Sepang, in the first 2008 winter
test, Toni Elias and Sylvain Guintoli have ridden for the
first laps of the season onboard the Ducati Desmosedici GP8
Sat. The Malaysian climatic conditions, which were over 30
degrees, have raised the asphalt temperature to 46 degrees
today. Tomorrow and Thursday the Alice Team riders will have
many laps at their disposal to try to improve their best lap
time.
Fabiano Sterlacchini – Technical Director
“We are working to find the right setting for both
riders. They have to adapt the bike to their riding style
and this surely takes some time. Today we have worked a lot
on the total package and from tomorrow we will also concentrate
to try different tyres solutions. The next two days will be
really important for us.”
Toni Elias – Alice Team Rider (17th best lap
time in 2’03.954 – Total laps 55)
“I would say that today went well. I wasn’t even
supposed to be here due the shoulder operation I went through,
but at the end I decided to come and things went well. I really
like the bike and we are already at a good level. In the next
two days we will try to adapt it even more to my riding style
and lower the lap times registered today.”
Sylvain Guintoli – Alice Team Rider (20th best
lap time in 2’06.000 – Total laps 36)
“I have to admit that is never easy to begin working
with new bike and tyres. We have a lot of work to do. I decided
to don’t take any risk today; it wasn’t our aim
to check the lap time sheet. At this moment that’s not
what we are looking for, but the feeling with the bike is
what we care about, and is improving lap by lap. This first
test of the year will be really useful to put solid basis
for the season which is about to begin.”
