Winter Test 2007 – day 3 Sepang Circuit (Malaysia)
BARROS AND HOFMANN FINISH THE SEPANG’S TEST
IN A POSITIVE WAY
The PRAMAC D’ANTIN MotoGP riders ended the three-day
test on the Sepang circuit very satisfied with the progress
made. Barros and Hofmann have concentrated their efforts on
improving the general setup of the Ducati GP7, and testing
new compounds of the Bridgestone tires. The Brazilian finished
the day with the time of 2.02.630, coherent with the time
set yesterday, while the German from Mindelheim, not 100%
fit due to some physical pain, improved on his time set yesterday,
marking a good 2.02.630, with the soft tires. The other teams
set their best times using qualification tires whilst, Barros
obtained his best time using race tires.
On Thursday the Team will move to Australia to the Phillip
Island track, where from the 30 January to 1 February they
continue their winter testing with another 3 day program.
ALEX BARROS (2’02.630 – 58 laps): “Today
has well gone, we have used only the Bridgestone race tires
. We have worked on the rear and improve the set-up, we are
in a good situation to go on. I’m very satisfied after
this third day and I felt very comfortable with the bike.
I’m confident that in the next test we will improve
even further”
ALEX
HOFMANN (2’02.908 – 58 laps ): “Today
was better than yesterday, I didn’t feel at 100%, but
we have done good work and a lot of runs made, retrieving
the time lost yesterday. The most important thing was to work
on the general set up. We have find a good direction, but
we have much to do. The step with race tire is considerably
improved while I’m unable to utilize at the maximum
qualification tires in consequence to physical problem suffered
yesterday. In conclusion I can say to be very satisfied after
this Malaysian test. We have found a good base to start the
next test in Phillip Island, when I will feel much better
and I can push harder”.
LUIS D’ANTIN – Team Principal:
“This test were very important for our Team because
have showed that we can work well and in the right determination.
The two last years have been very difficult from the point
of view of results and the expectation for this season are
to achieve important results, and look to challenge for podium
positions . Behind this good start season, there is Ducati,
a special company, different from the others, with big value.
I would thank Ducati for their big technical and human effort
that is going to do to put us in best condition they can.
Our aim is to do well and to support at the maximum the Company
from Borgo Panigale”.
