Winter Test – Day 3 Test Phillip Island Circuit (Australia)
VERY POSITIVE BALANCE FOR THE PRAMAC D’ANTIN MOTOGP
TEAM IN THE PHILLIP ISLAND TEST
PRAMAC D’ANTIN MotoGP team ended the three day test
in Australia in a positive way. The Team is decidedly satisfied
about the work done and very confident they are progressing
in the right direction for the Ducati GP development.
Alex Barros, after recording the best laptime at the end
of the first and second days testing, focused himself on testing
the Bridgestone tyres, totalling 47 laps in 1’30.410.
Alex Hofmann, tried qualifying tyres for the first time, making
a good time of 1’30.210 that confirmed the fifth satisfactory
time, completed yesterday.
The race simulation of both the riders, showed consistant
performance and confirmed the excellent italo-spain Team moment.
The next test will take place in Qatar on Losail circuit,
from the 13 to 15 February.
Alex Barros (1’30.410 – 47 laps):
“Today we utilised only Bridgestone race tyres, having
tried yesterday the qualifying round, making a good laptime
of 1’30.010; a performance that reveal a high level
of improvement if compared with others rider times, today
obtained with soft tyres. Having already individualized a
good general bike set-up, we focused in one race simulation
with satisfying results. I’m very happy about the work
done, my Team and the obtained results. I have to thank Ducati
for the material at my disposition.”
Alex Hofmann (1’30.210 – 53 laps):
“Still Today we made good work, I’m very satisfied;
I have the right feeling with the Team and all the technical
package at my disposition. We have made further set-up refinements,
with the identified base was good. Today I tried qualifying
tyres, but I haven’t pushed at maximum because was my
first time. The race set-up is consistant and make us confident.
I’m very satisfied with my Team to prepare for the next
test in Qatar where I want re-confirm our fast and with consistant
rhythm”.
Luis d’Antin – Team Principal:
“We are very satisfied with this three days testing.
The Team have worked well and we believe with confidence for
the next test and season 2007. Ducati made an excellent project
with the GP7; one of our principal focus is continue to support
the Company from Borgo Panigale as well we can and reach important
results. We have to continue to work in this direction”.
