ANOTHER HIT IN THE POINTS AREA FOR ALEX HOFMANN
ALEX
HOFMANN gets another point in the General classification of
the 2006 MotoGP World Championship. Fifteenth at the arrival
with his DUCATI DESMOSEDICI GP06 “Sat.”, the point
he obtains is a small prize for the whole PRAMAC D’ANTIN
MOTOGP Team that really did a good job during the whole weekend,
despite the difficulties due to the tyres. JOSE LUIS CARDOSO
managed to finish the race 17th, the Spanish rider is going
on improving however he didn’t ride much on Friday neither
on Saturday.
Next appointment on the 21st May at Le Mans in France.
ALEX HOFMANN #66 (15th): “During the
whole weekend, I always gave the maximum. Today, it was clearly
impossible to make anything more. The pity is not having managed
to be the first DUNLOP rider, this was our main target. Anyway,
my Team did a really good job, we improved a lot from the
winter and, now, we finally found a good work direction to
take, which makes us optimistic. Today, unfortunately, we
only had one other option of tyre to choose and this situation
penalized us. During the race, I gave my 100%, I also tried
to change the line, to brake in different ways, but it was
impossible to make more than what I did. So, I can say that
obtaining another point in the Championship classification
makes me happy and rewards a bit all the work we did during
the whole weekend. See you in France in a few days!”.
JOSE LUIS CARDOSO #30 (17th): “I’m
happy for having finished this race. I didn’t ride much
during the Friday and Saturday practice, because of the bad
weather and some crashes, and the race consequently was an
incognita. For these reasons, I’m quite happy about
my race. During the first 12-13 laps, I had a good feeling,
better than during the practice, I had a good rhythm and this
surely is a positive thing. Then, in the last laps, there
were some difficulties with the tyres, and I also went a bit
down physically, because of the crash I did on Saturday morning.
I would like to thank my Team once again, for the big commitment
they’ve been demonstrating, but also the whole Clinica
Mobile staff, that took care of me in a very nice way yesterday,
and even more today. They all have been very nice to me and
they allowed me to take part to the race in the best way as
possible”.
LUIS D’ANTIN - Team Manager: “Today
both our riders made the maximum, and this shows us we need
to go on working in the same way during the next races. The
level of our motorcycle is good but we need to underline we
are committed to a High Level Championship as the MotoGP one.
Our Official Tyres’ Supplier, DUNLOP, has to understand
that, for these reasons, a human, technical and economical
effort is needed, which should be at the level of the circumstances.
Today we only had two tyres at our disposal and this kind
of situation really makes our work more difficult if we want
to be competitive. Let’s see what will happen in France,
at Le Mans”.
