MotoGP IRTA Official Test - Catalunya (Spain)
Jose Luis Cardoso 1’46’’603
Alex Hofmann 1’46’’606
Today was the first of the three IRTA Official Test days
on the CATALUNYA circuit. For the PRAMAC D’ANTIN Team
it has been the first Official show, the very first confrontation
in Europe with all the others MotoGP teams. The two new riders,
the Spanish JOSE LUIS CARDOSO and the German ALEX HOFMANN
have continued their apprenticeship on the DUCATI DESMOSEDICI
GP06 “Sat” for the first time on the Spanish track.
Tomorrow, for the second practice day, are programmed a lot
of tests to define the best setting in sight of the beginning
of the season.
ANDRE LAUGIER – Track Engineer of JOSE LUIS
CARDOSO: “The conditions of this track aren’t
particularly favourable to our characteristics; consequently,
there has been some difficulties to find a good feeling. We
must go on working hardly to find valid alternatives that
could allow both our riders to improve their best times”.
JOSE LUIS CARDOSO #30: “I’m
not very satisfied about today’s practice. I wasn’t
at the 100% of my physical capacities because of a crash during
some practice with a Supermotard last week. I rode a lot and
this allowed us to test many DUNLOP tyres. About the end of
the day, there have been some improvements on it, I had better
sensations but that’s not enough. For tomorrow is predicted
a big test program, based especially on the tyres; we will
work a lot on the general set-up of the motorcycle, to find
out the ideal combinations that we were missing today, so
to be able to improve our times the most as possible”.
ALEX HOFMANN #66: “This day hasn’t
been one of the best, I wasn’t able to find a good general
feeling and for this reason I couldn’t ride at 100%.
I was missing some confidence to ride at the maximum of my
possibilities. We now have to check all the data to understand
what variations we should make and be able to find the best
work direction to take advantage the most possible of the
two other days of practice left. I’m confident and I
can’t wait to give the best of myself on the track”.
