PRAMAC D’ANTIN MOTOGP
Qualifying Practice on the Circuit of Jerez de la
Frontera (Spain)
QUALIFYING AT JEREZ FOR PRAMAC D’ANTIN MOTOGP
RIDERS
Good weather conditions for the single Official Practice
session reserved to the MotoGP class riders. A session delayed
of 20 minutes on the initial time schedule, because of some
oil on the track left by the DUCATI DESMOSEDICI GP06 “Sat.”
of ALEX HOFMANN during the first laps. Other technical difficulties
didn’t allow the German to get advantage of the whole
hour session at the riders’ disposal for the qualifications,
AND he classified himself in 19th position and will need to
do his best during the race. The Spanish JOSE LUIS CARDOSO,
at his Home GP, obtained the 17th time but is still enthusiast
and dreams about getting some points in front of his public.
The weather conditions should remain optimal tomorrow as well,
for the race that will start at 2 p.m. (27 laps).
JOSE LUIS CARDOSO #30 (1’41’’749):
“I’m not very satisfied about this practice. I
didn’t manage to make a lot of “clean” laps,
there were some difficulties because of some test we had to
make on the electronic and other particulars that limited
my action. About the tyres, I can say that we’re quite
ok. The difficulties are on the rear and we still haven’t
decided yet which one we will use during the race: a choice
that will be done tomorrow morning during the warm-up. In
race, I hope to get some points, it won’t be an easy
thing but it would really be a huge satisfaction in front
of my public”.
ALEX HOFMANN #66 (1’42’’341):
“I’m not very happy about how things went during
the last two days. This afternoon, in the qualifying practice
session, I entered with a set-up and tyres to test but after
only one lap, I had the technical difficulty that caused the
oil leak. I don’t how I managed to avoid the crash and
I’m really sorry for the other riders, I tried to make
them sign to stop but they didn’t see me. When the session
started again, we had to use the bike n.2 and there were some
difficulties with the gearbox; so we nearly lost the entire
qualifying session. At the end of the practice, I went back
on track but only could make one full lap and test only one
tyre. I’m really disappointed about the result, we now
have the warm-up left to prepare both motorcycles for the
race and I hope everything will be alright.”
LUIS D’ANTIN – TEAM MANAGER: “HOFMANN
he had misfortune. There were some technical hitches
that made us lose the whole qualifying practice session. Besides,
there were also some difficulties to define the set-up and
we hadn’t got lots of tyres to test. With CARDOSO we
went on with our work program and we did some steps ahead,
he’s going on with his apprenticeship and he’s
doing his best; even if there is still a lot to do.
I hope that the enthusiasm that comes from our home public,
united to the engagement that the Team is putting in its work,
will prime us with some important result”.
