A difficult race at Mugello
However the sun was finally shining today on the Italian
track of Mugello, the PRAMAC D’ANTIN MOTOGP day remained
in the shade. ALEX HOFMANN, that had a good start, unfortunately
crashed out the corner “Correntaio” in the 9th
lap, betrayed by the front part of his motorcycle. A crash
happily without any physical consequences. JOSE LUIS CARDOSO,
at his time, arrived 17th under the chequered flag, on the
DUCATI DESMOSEDICI GP06 “Sat.” with Dunlop tyres.
For tomorrow are predicted other tests for the whole Team,
obviously on the Mugello Circuit in Italy, while the next
race will be at Barcelona, Spain, on the 18th June.
JOSE LUIS CARDOSO #30 (17th): “I had
some difficulties with the tyres, the motorcycle was sliding
a lot and, for this reason, it wasn’t possible to do
more. I’m disappointed because I would really have liked
to obtain my first points on a track as Mugello, in front
of all our sponsors and supporters.”.
ALEX HOFMANN #66 (crashed out - Rider OK):
“I had done a really good start, I was with all the
other riders. Then, unfortunately, I lose ground because my
tyres didn’t reach their ideal temperature quickly enough,
making me lose time in the first laps. After that, I rode
in a quite good way, managing to get a rhythm quite similar
to the riders I had in front, and that’s why I tried
to go a bit faster. Unfortunately, It didn’t work and
I lose the front in the corner “Correntaio”. A
real pity but these are things that happens when you’re
out of the limit”.
LUIS D’ANTIN (Team Manager): “Today
were repeated the problems we’re having from the beginning
of the season. Despite the meetings with the Dunlop head-technicians
searching for solutions, these solutions still don’t
arrive, seriously compromising the sporting and economical
interests of the Team, its riders and sponsors. Not much time
before the race, our tyres engineer confirmed us that Carlos
Checa had at his disposal a different tyre from ours, one
thing that, following our point of view, doesn’t respect
the signed agreements with Dunlop. For these reasons, and
in front of this difficult situation, it only remains me to
ask Dunlop the immediate and integrate completion of the undersigned
agreement. Otherwise, I will be forced to begin the legal
actions that my lawyers would retain more opportune, defending
the legitimate interests of the PRAMAC D’ANTIN MOTOGP
Team. I mean that, in a sporting competition at the level
of MotoGP, we should have the necessary capacity and professionalism
to resolve the actual unpleasant situation”.
