DONINGTON
PARK: A QUITE UNLUCKY DAY FOR JOSE LUIS CARDOSO AND IVAN SILVA
In England, the sun goes on shining on the Circuit of Donington
Park. The PRAMAC D’ANTIN MOTOGP Team riders, the Spanish
IVAN SILVA and JOSE LUIS CARDOSO, qualified themselves respectively
in 17th and 18th position. After having worked in a satisfying
way on the race tyres, they couldn’t take advantage
of the qualifying tyres because of the traffic on the track
and some errors. After a crash in the way down of the spectacular
English track, IVAN SILVA sustained a pulled ligament of the
left ankle that, luckily, will let him take part to the race
tomorrow.
The race of the MotoGP class will start tomorrow at 1.00 a.m.
local time in England.
IVAN SILVA #22 (17th - 1’31.838):
“DUNLOP brought us tyres that should allow us to get
to mid-race in good conditions. It has been a pity not to
have the possibility to take advantage of the qualifying tyres
we had at our disposal because I was optimistic. Unfortunately,
with the first tyre, I had difficulties because of the traffic
on the track, and with the second one, I crashed in the fast
part going down. A real pity! Anyway, I’m really satisfied
about the Team, everybody worked very good during the whole
weekend. I’m sorry about the crash, especially because
I could have improved my best lap time”.
JOSE LUIS CARDOSO #30 (18th - 1’32.252):
“With the race tyres, the rhythm is not bad, it’s
quite regular even if I need to improve a lot more my lap
times. I have not much confidence on the front and tomorrow
morning, during the warm-up, we will go on working, we will
try some other modifications for the race. At the end of the
session, I had two qualifying tyres at my disposal but I didn’t
managed to obtain a good time as I committed some errors.
Let’s think about the race, I really want to make a
good result, my Team deserves it, everybody is working very
hard”.
ANDRE LAUGIER – Track Engineer of Ivan Silva:
“The situation is quite positive as we went
on improving with IVAN SILVA. Everytime he goes on track,
he gets more confidence with the circuit and we are satisfied,
we also chose tyres that should ensure a certain constancy
during the race. One negative aspect is not to have had the
chance to take advantage of the qualifying tyres, but the
most important is to be ready for the race”.
