A DIFFICULT RACE IN CZECH REPUBLIC FOR THE TEAM
PRAMAC D’ANTIN MOTOGP
Today
on the circuit of Brno, one of the longest track of the 2006
MotoGP World Championship’s calendar, took place the
race of the MotoGP class, and the Spanish IVAN SILVA ended
it in 18th with the DUCATI DESMOSEDICI GP06 “Sat.”.
The rider from Barcelona, substituting for the third time
the German ALEX HOFMANN, also managed to improve the best
laptime he did on Saturday with the race tyres. JOSE LUIS
CARDOSO, not satisfied about the performance of the tyres,
retired himself after six laps.
The next race will be on the 10th September at Sepang, Malaysia,
just before two other races out of Europe, in Japan and Malaysia.
IVAN SILVA #22 (18th): “I’m
happy because I ended another MotoGP race. I managed to improve
my laptimes and I rode faster at the end of the race when
the tyres were consumed. This means a lot to me, we made good
progresses. The Team has been assisting me very well during
the whole weekend, helping me to correct my driving style
and to be more regular. I would like to thank once again Luis
d’Antín, PRAMAC and all the sponsors for this
new opportunity and their trust in me. I remain at their disposal
for any other eventuality”.
JOSE LUIS CARDOSO #30 (not classified):
“I retired myself because the tyre was much worse than
during the warm-up. For the whole weekend, we’ve been
having many difficulties with the tyres and also technically
speaking, which made us lose much time in the practice. During
the race, we used the best tyre we had but it was worse than
predicted. That’s why going on didn’t seem the
best solution to me. In this situation, personally and sportingly
speaking, I can’t be at 100%.”.
EMANUELE MARTINELLI - Track Engineer of Ivan Silva:
“There have been big difficulties with the
tyres from Friday and things didn’t improve a lot. SILVA
did his job as he had to, he made everything he could make
in these conditions. Besides, he registered his best laptime
with race tyres during the last laps of the races and this
means a lot. He changed his way of driving, that is not really
adequate when the tyres do slide, managing to raise the motorcycle
sooner in the exit of the corners and remaining less down
with the bike. He has been really clever, and let’s
not forget that it must be quite difficult to pass from one
bike to another in so a short time as he’s been doing
in these last weeks”.
