ANOTHER POINT FOR ALEX HOFMANN IN QATAR
A
Day disturbed by the strong wind that was blowing on the track
from the morning and that didn’t allow the riders to
ride with the times they did yesterday. The two PRAMAC D’ANTIN
MOTOGP riders, ALEX HOFMANN and JOSE LUIS CARDOSO, had really
good starts, getting respectively the 11th and 14th position.
Unfortunately, HOFMANN went out of track during the first
lap, when the bike of a rider actually crashing flied in the
air and even touched his helmet. ALEX began to recuperate
and arrived in 15th position after passing his team mate,
CARDOSO, that classified himself 16th under the chequered
flag.
The next race will be on the 30th April at Istanbul in Turkey.
ALEX HOFMANN #66 (15°): “I had
a good start and I was 11th. A rider crashed and his bike
flied in the air; I saw it passing above my head and it even
touched my helmet. I have been really lucky not to crash but
anyway I went out of the track, and then had to recuperate.
I was really angry and couldn’t concentrate; it took
me about five laps to get back my rhythm. A good rhythm as
I was making the same times as the other DUNLOP riders. I’m
sure that, if nothing happened during the first lap, I would
have managed to stay in front of them, also because I had
a better start myself. Anyway it has been positive to obtain
the 15th position as it allowed us to get another point in
the general classification. I’ll see you in Turkey,
last year I wasn’t there because I was injured and I
can’t wait to see the track”.
JOSE LUIS CARDOSO #30 (16°): “I
had a good start and I was 14th, but after some laps I began
to have some difficulties and lose some positions. I think
that, in a bad moment as the one we are having now, it has
been positive to end the race, it allowed us to collect a
lot of information that will be useful for everyone of us.
The Team has worked very much during the whole weekend and
I would like to thank them. I’ll see you in Turkey,
I never went there and I’m looking forward to ride on
this new track”.
EMANUELE MARTINELLI – Track Engineer of Alex
Hofmann : “The minimal result with the maximal
effort. ALEX has done a good race, he had a good start and
then happened what happened and he remained nervous for some
laps. A real pity because his rhythm during the race was optimal.
He would surely have managed to stay with the other DUNLOP
riders, and that’s one of our aim. Anyway, we have done
the maximum and he demonstrated to be a good rider. Now we
need to concentrate ourselves on the tyres development”.
