JOSE
LUIS CARDOSO discovers Istanbul on a boat cruise along the
Bosphorus.
This Thursday afternoon, JOSE LUIS CARDOSO, was invited by
DORNA with other riders to make a boat cruise along the Bosphorus,
the famous strait that separates Europe and Asia, between
the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara. A mixture of past and
present, and an opportunity for the Spanish rider to see some
beauties of Istanbul, like the Ottoman Topkapi Palace, the
Blue Mosque that is a masterpiece of the Ottoman Art and the
Church of Saint Sophia, a splendid monument from the Christianity.
The PRAMAC D’ANTIN MOTOGP rider remained fascinated:
“It has been a nice experience, something really unique,
especially as I never had been to Istanbul before. I’m
glad because I was curious to see some of the masterpieces
of one of the most celebrated cities in the history, for its
wealth and its beauty, the capital of the Orient Roman Empire
that is now a multicultural city. We had the occasion to admire
its wonders during the boat cruise, but also from the port.
I like Turkey, it’s fascinating because really different
in its ways of living and its customs. I spent some time talking
with the boat Captain that told me about the glorious past
of Istanbul and the contrasts that this city still has today.
On the boat I also assisted to a typical Turkish show, some
artists danced and singed and I had a lot of fun with all
the other riders. To conclude, we had lunch all together,
a nice way to enjoy the local cooking after a special day
as this one”.
The first sessions of free practice for the MotoGP class
on the Circuit of Istanbul Park will be tomorrow, 28th April,
at 10 a.m., local time in Turkey (GMT+3).
