Body Blow for 'Prince' Charles Smith

Eagles have been left reeling from the news that influential
forward, and current leading scorer (14.4 points per game),
"Prince" Charles Smith will be out of action for
several weeks after picking up a knee injury during last Sunday's
BBL Trophy Final loss against Guildford Heat.
The hugely popular veteran is remaining positive however
and hoping that his campaign isn't over and that he can make
it back onto court as soon as possible.
The initial assessment is that he is expected to be sidelined
for between 4-6 weeks, meaning he is unlikely to feature again
during the regular season.
Losing Smith is a considerable blow to Newcastle's title
aspirations, although they are currently still in pole position
with a two loss cushion between themselves and nearest challengers
Guildford.
Smith is however hoping he can return for the end of season
play-offs and play a key part in trying to help the club successfully
defend their BBL Championship Play-Off trophy.
