Team-Mates Battle for Scoring Title
While the Worcester Wolves go into Saturday's home game against
the PAWS London Capital still hoping to clinch seventh place
in the final BBL Championship table, there will be another
intriguing contest taking place between two of their star
performers this season.
Wolves forward Anthony Paez and guard James Life are neck
and neck in the race to finish leading scorer in the BBL Championship
this seaon.
Paez goes into the game with an average of 24.6562 points
per game, a fraction ahead of his team-mate Life who is averaging
24.6521 per game.
With Life having joined the Wolves in November, and thus
having played in fewer games than his high- scoring counterpart,
Paez is ahead in terms of total points scored (789 compared
with Life's 567), and the calculations as to who will win
the scoring crown are numerous.
Whichever of the players scores the most on Saturday will
take the title. However, if both players score 25 points they
will finish level on 24.667. If both score the same number,
but it is less than 25, then it will be Paez who takes the
award. Whereas, if both score the same number but it is more
than 25 it will be Life.
This amazing end-of-season statistical dilemma is something
that Head Coach Skouson Harker is fully aware of,
"It will certainly be interesting. I'm not sure what
will happen if they are level on 25 going into the final play.
Maybe I'll take the shot myself to save any arguments."
Worcester's game against Capital tips-off at 7.30pm on Saturday
with tickets available on the door.
