BBL Championship
Everton Tigers 82 (14,39,55) (Midgley 32, C Davis
18, Robertson 10)
SAMG Verve Scottish Rocks 68 (19,37,46) (S Davis 17, Yanders
14, Wohlers 12)
Everton Tigers kept the opportunity of finishing seventh
in their first season in the BBL in their own hands with an
82-68 win over Scottish Rocks.
It was a bad defeat for the Rocks with it moving them down
into sixth place because of Sheffield Sharks holding the head-to-head
series against the Glasgow- based club.
After leading 14-19 at the end of the first quarter the Rocks
allowed Tigers to nose ahead 39-37 heading into the half time
interval. During the break the crowd were entertained by basketball
legends the Harlem Globetrotters.
Tigers dominated the third quarter to lead 55-46 and then
Great Britain guard Richard Midgley nailed several three-pointers,
on his way to a game-high 32- points, as the home team closed
out the match with a 12-3 run.
