2007 Superstock 1000 FIM Cup

XAVI FOURTH!
Despite never having see the track before today, Team Alstare
Suzuki Corona Extra rider Xavier Simeon was able to post the
fourth fastest time of the day. The trio in front of him have
all raced here before in the Italian Championship, so Xavi
is happy that he was able to be competing with them so soon.
Mark Aitchison (Suzuki) set the day’s fastest time,
with a lap of 1:41.742, ahead of Ayrton Badovini (MV) second
and Claudio Corti (Yamaha) third.

Considering that this is my first time here, I’m happy
with fourth quickest. Today I spent all the time learning
the track and geeting a good bike set-up. So, tomorrow I’ll
be able to push much harder for sure. This afternoon was better
because it was dry, but even in the wet I was putting in good
lap times, so I’m not worried whatever the weather does.
Vallelunga is an easy track to learn and I found no real problems.
Now I’m looking forward to tomorrow and putting my pressure
on the guys up front.
