SERIES LEADER LEADS THE CHARGE! Series leader
Xavier Simeon led the way in first qualifying for the Suzuki
GSX-R750 European Cup at Lausitz today. The young Belgian
posted a lap of 1:45.885, nearly two tenths of a second quicker
then his nearest rival German Rene Mahr. Third quickest is
Briton Tom Sykes, with Swiss rider Roman Stamm fourth
XAVIER - 1st It’s been a long time
since I rode in the GSX-R Cup and it took me a while to get
used to the bike again, especially as I had only just finished
Superstock 600 practice. I didn’t find it so easy to
steer through the turns for a while, but when we changed the
front and rear suspension, it felt better. We’ll make
a few more adjustments tomorrow and hopefully improve the
feel of the set-up.
