XAVI ON FRONT ROW.
Italian Ducati rider Nicola Canepa set the fastest lap in
qualifying and will start on pole position in tomorrow’s
14-lap at Silverstone. Second on the grid is Davide Giugliano
(Kawasaki), with series leader Xavier Simeon (Alstare Suzuki
Corona Extra) third and Andrea Antonelli ((Honda) fourth.
Today’s qualifying took place in the wet, so it was
yesterday’s dry times that determined the formation
of the grid.

Today my bike worked very well in the wet and I was happy
because it felt so good. I concentrated hard and my time of
1:49.097 was the best time - over a second quicker than anybody
else. I wanted some dry track time today, so I could work
on my bike set-up, but it just didn’t happen. I hope
that the warm-up and the race will be dry tomorrow because
the racing will be much better. I have a good points advantage
in the series, but I want to win the race tomorrow and extend
my series lead.
