Team Alstare at Goodwood
Team
Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra made their first visit to the
prestigious Festival of Speed at Goodwood recently and enjoyed
the experience so much that they want to do it again next
year. The Festival of Speed is one of the most famous motorsports
events on the calendar and over 150,000 spectators make the
pilgrimage to the Sussex town each year to see the top stars
of F1, MotoGP and World Superbike close up.
The whole event is the brain child of the Earl of March at
takes places in the grounds of his estate at Goodwood which
is transformed into an homage to two and four wheels for the
three days. This was the first year that the event has not
clashed with a World Superbike race, so Team Alstare took
the opportunity to be there with current World Superbike Champion
Troy Corser and two of their 2006 GSX-R1000 K6 Suzukis. Their
stand, in the Formula 1 paddock, was adjacent to Suzuki’s
BSB team and backed on to the 1960s Honda F1 cars of John
Surtees. Surtees is the only man in history to win world titles
on two wheels and four - a feat that is unlikely ever to be
repeated.
