Ascot Park Polo Club
Learn To Play Polo
ALL
YOU NEED IS A SENSE OF FUN AND ADVENTURE
If Jack Dee, and Hale and Pace can do it - then so can you.
The biggest myth about polo is that you need to be able to
ride to have a go - not so and it is the life long ambition
of Polo Player and Coach Peter Grace to spread this word.
Ascot Park Polo club is the largest polo training centre
in the world and arguably has the best international reputation.
The club welcomes over 2500 people a year through the gates
to come and pick up a polo stick for the first time.
The
Club has a string of beautifully trained and patient ponies
kept to introduce the novice rider to the excitements of polo.
However no student is allowed on a pony until they have mastered
the polo swing on the mechanical horse or when standing on
a chair on the lawn. In one morning students can progress
to playing a chukka - albeit not at a full speed gallop.
The Club claim that you do not need to have any riding experience
to try polo, and as they provide all the necessary equipment
there is nothing stopping you. Potential layers of all ages
and sizes are catered for and welcomed to the club by Peter
Grace and his daughter Victoria.
Celebrity students such as Hale and Pace, (BBC's Jobs for
the Boys), Jack Dee, (BBC's Jack Dee's Happy Hour), Tim Vincent,
Charles Dance, John Hurt, John Whittaker, Blyth Tait and Richard
Dunwoody have experienced the welcoming family atmosphere
at the Club and left knowing a lot more about polo than when
they arrived.
Vouchers
for polo lessons are available and are a very popular birthday
or anniversary present. Please contact Penny in the Polo Office
